Unity and Variety (Clothing Style)

Reflection:
        This project is simple in it's idea. My idea was to show unity and variety through photographing different styles of clothes. This is a new idea I thought of when I was talking to one of my friends about clothing. He had an interest in clothes and he was telling me how everyone has their own specific style even if you wear the same thing. It was actually an interesting idea and I noticed that even though people can wear the same type of clothing, they would bring their own twist/taste on the style. This idea is completely new as I just came up with it last week. My challenges have been finding the right people to photograph from each group. I noticed that cliques all tend to wear similar styles of clothing. So I would have to find someone different from each clique. My successes have been being able to become friends with new people and thus, finding the right people to photograph. Taking the photographs have also been easy to do, as being social helps bring out the person being photographed more. I will continue with this idea because it is interesting and probably tweak it with new details and concepts.

Guitar These photos were all taken using an iPhone Camera. They are a series of different expressions people have while playing guitar. In the first photograph, you have a happy relaxed player. The second picture is deceptive, his head isn't resting on the guitar because he is lazy, it is because he is listening closely and following the notes. Now the third and fourth pictures both share the common expression of people being focused on their playing. The final picture is 3 guys interested in playing the guitar and naturally smiling and talking about it. Reflection:           This idea was very experimental and turned out differently than I expected. I wanted to experiment with taking pictures of people playing the guitar to try and capture the emotion/focus they put into while playing. Reflection: The goal of this project was to photograph people's facial expressions before and after complimenting them. This idea was completely new and I thought of it the same day I took the photographs. My challenge was that I expected positive reactions from everyone and I didn't. Some people gave me weird looks. Probably because I have never complimented them. My successes were getting genuine reactions from people and having a variety of them. They were also comical. I want to continue with this idea and change up the compliments.
